10 festive favourites

Last-minute panic is never a good feeling. I know because I do it a lot. No more, I say! I'm trying to be a more organized person in a lot of areas of my life and part of that is happening in the kitchen. I know a lot of you are meal planners, pinners, and general organization fans. So, with the holiday season fast approaching, I thought I'd share some of my favourite personal recipes that I'll be turning to over the holiday season so that we can all feel organized and peaceful and sane from now through January and (maybe even) beyond.

CRANAPPLE HOLIDAY CRUMBLE

SPICED BEEF PIE WITH WALNUT PASTRY

FALL APPLE PIE

CHEESY SCALLOPED POTATOES

One of my favourite food traditions over the holidays is Christmas Eve appies. We do a big platter of crackers and cheese, spreads, cured meats and olives and munch away in front of the fire with the kids. Love.

Which dishes will you turn to over the busy holiday season? What are your festive food traditions? Leave a comment and share your tips on staying organized!

  1. I make a lot more pumpkin dishes for obvious reasons. Here's a link to a few of them: http://maritadachsel.blogspot.ca/2012/11/pumpkins.html

For St. Nicholas Day, I make latkes and a black forest chocolate cake and Christmas Eve, I make a special seafood stew.
