Best Christmas Gifts GIVEAWAY - Canning Kit

I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I included something to do with canning in my Best Christmas Gifts for the Home Cook wish list on Monday. With my first cookbook The Canning Kitchen coming out in 2015 (Penguin Canada), I want to get you set up with a few tools and ready to can with me.

What better way to do that than to give away the Home Canning Starter Kit from Bernardin! This kit has everything you need to get started filling jars with delicious homemade jams, jellies, marmalades, pickles, chutneys, relishes and more. This kit really sets you up with your own canning kitchen. It contains a 21-quart canner, a rack, jar lifter, funnel, lid lifter, bubble remover/headspace measuring tool, jars, lids, pectin, recipe booklet and even an instructional DVD with Bernardin's Executive Chef, Emerie Brine.

We're going to have so much fun canning in 2015!

Especially around the holidays, homemade preserves make beautiful gifts. Whether it's a jar of jam for your child's teacher, some fruit chutney with wine for a boss, or blueberry pancake sauce for a special friend who has really been there for you this year, homemade preserves make personal and heartfelt gifts.

To win the Home Canning Starter Kit from Bernardin, leave a comment on this blog post telling me what you'd like to can in 2015. BE SURE TO LEAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS so I can contact you if you win.

Good luck!

Canadian residents only. One entry per person. Contest closes Thursday, December 11th at 9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Pacific. Winner will be contacted directly and announced on FamilyFeedbag.com.

  26. I really slacked off on the canning this year because things were so busy, but one of my resolutions for next year is to get back into the swing of things. I've got a recipe for blueberries in maple syrup in my bookmarks that I'm dying to try, and a shiny new canning kit is just the kick in the butt I need to actually do it. :) (Email address is in my Google profile.)
