I don't think it is the rolling. I cooked my onions in some butter and then added the bacon. I dumped the mixture in with the milk. I think it may have been the extra hot fat that somehow canceled out the baking powder. Once I mixed the ingredients, I put the bowl in the fridge before rolling it out. Mine are more of a savory cookie than biscuits. The next time I will try to strain the bacon and onions before adding them the dry ingredients.BakerJakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02558096793594071017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6272873112364234651.post-40847390810738674092015-10-15T21:06:23.548-07:002015-10-15T21:06:23.548-07:00I think next time I'll got with a little more ...I think next time I'll got with a little more onion too! (When I make biscuits and scones, I usually pat the dough into a square and use a knife to cut it. No waste and no tough little nuggets from overworked dough.) (See, this is why I could never be a food blogger--I'm okay with square biscuits. Obviously I don't care enough about how the food LOOKS.) I've never eaten a baked, frozen then ...Hmmm... I've never eaten a baked, frozen then thawed biscuit, so I couldn't say if you'd be sacrificing quality. I wonder if the best way to do it would be to freeze the cut biscuits before they're baked, then pop them in the oven from frozen? That way you could bake just the amount you need. I like the look of Modern Beet's 3-step process for freezing homemade biscuits described here: http://www.modernbeet.com/archives/116Amy Broneehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17656720549990106880noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6272873112364234651.post-43306519258638579392013-02-19T14:15:09.138-08:002013-02-19T14:15:09.138-08:00Wanted to know if you have ever stored these in th...Wanted to know if you have ever stored these in the freezer?
